Avoid the wooden dog crate at all cost if you dog lives outdoors. Another thing to consider is whether to get a crate with one door or two doors. A double door dog crate will offer more ease and choices for managing your dogs in and out of the cage. The double door dog crate is also great when you’ve got several people working in or around the crate itself. This will allow both people to work within and without the dog crate simultaneously. If this is the type of handiness you are looking for, then you would certainly want to consider the double door dog crate. Otherwise, a single door crate will do just okay.

Wire crates are generally the cheapest option there is because of their simple and basic design. This is great when you are pretty low on budget. Wood crates offer a more pleasing look, however, you have to shell out a few more bucks in order to purchase these crates. Whatever you choose, knowing the types available will certainly make your life easier when purchasing a new crate.
